a friend emailed me today and said something was going on with john mayer and jessica simpson! have any of you heard about this? i haven't at all, and it comes as a total surprise. it's not as if i know either of them so i have no real idea what i'm talking about, but i can't picture them together.

yeah, something about them just seems weird. It's like the head cheerleader dating the brooding acoustic guitar player (which is exactly what he is, but there's no comparable stereotype for him since he's in a stereotype himself!). It just doesn't seem to work.

the white/orange thing was the first thing I noticed!  If she's gonna be with him, she needs to stop tanning.

I think the confession part is that when she was taping an MTV concert special she broke down in tears and said that she fell in love very young, and people change. I am only skimming the article, but that's the only part I see that fits the "shocking confession" profile.
