This might be an odd question for such a simple item of clothing, but there's so many choices...so, what's your favorite t-shirt: C&C California, James Perse, American Apparel, Gap, J Crew, etc.?
Polo Ralph Lauren Men's V-Neck....they are my staple. I layer them under EVERYTHING in the winter and wear one with jeans or a mini at least once a week during the summer...After you wash them once they shrink to the perfect size and length!

Surprisingly enough, my Banana tees, some of which I've bought as early as five years ago, still look great. They seem to wash and wear very well.
Of course, some of the ones they're selling now are too sheer, but that seems to be the case with most brands. For example, I just tried on a white Splendid tee that was completely see-through.
I love the tees from a local store by my house, called pitaya (pitayaonline.com)
They run pretty small, because I think this store is basically for teens and waifs, but I can fit into a large (the largest size they have) and it's perfect (so I just can't gain an ounce more weight, is all!)...but I'm all sad, they seem to be phasing them out! They used to have a huge space with all different piles of different necklines and colors, but I went in their yesterday and there was only a sprinkling left on the racks. I do hope they don't get rid of them - after all I did to find them!

I have to say, the best t-shirts I've EVER encountered were from Banana ca. 1994-1995. they were made of 50% sea island cotton and 50% regular cotton or something like that. I got one in 4th grade and I wore it up until college. I'd still wear it, but it's in my closet in NY now. I owned an M in Navy (this was back when they sized smaller) and would've given anything to be able to wear the L in Red as well that I owned.
The LA Made tees come the closest to replicating these old, lost Banana ones.
I think my favorite tees overall have been splendid- they hold up well with washing and dont loose their shape. Surprisingly I have bought several tees at Express, really cheap on clearance that have been very nice also. Im not much of a tee person, so I really dont have many.
michael stars "shine" tees are my favorite by a mile. i only have a few cuz they're sorta pricey. but they fit me perfectly and i've washed them a half million times and they still look great.
I like my j crew ones I get at the outlet for $10 a pop but lately I've been noticing that they are stretching out and I lay them flat to dry and don't wear them too often/abuse them any. But for $10 maybe next time I'll go with an xs instead of a s.
I have been wanting to try la made but the only ones my nordies carries comes down halfway to my thigh. They are just too long. I really want to try james perse and michael stars. I think I might order a few michael stars from ebay as they run pretty cheap there
ok, i totaly missunderstood this question. i thought you meant like a t-shirt in my closet that i wear alot. so i will post pics of my favorites, just because, but my favorite basic t-shirts are "Girl" or Anchor Blue.
My favorite right now are Gap scoop neck tees in their tall sizes. Because my "girls" are so big, I don't like wearing high neck tee shirts, and these have a flattering neck line for me. Plus, their new Tall line is the perfect length for me. I've never tried on any high end tees, though. I'm sure there are some out there that I would like better.
