Y'all, Target was out of the L'oreal self-tanner that I used to use. And after a short weighing of competing annoyances, try-new-product v. drive-to-another-store, I grabbed Neutragena Instant Bronze and I am so hooked that I sound like a totally cheesy commercial and I know it but seriously - this stuff is good! The best I have ever, ever used. I've never been very good at putting it on, and just sort of got used to always having a few streaks. No more. And I am VERY white, with veiny legs, so I got used to no product being able to relaly offer THAT much coverage. I just always tried to go for a sort of yellower tint, to counteract the fish-belly white. Those days are over. I look like an undergrad with a taning bed PROBLEM. Literally, my friends were like, "you are becoming a self-tanner-orexic. Cut it out." So I've dialed it back a little, but it's still so nice to be TAN. Really. Truly. Tan. For the first time in my life. Love it!
Oh, the one weird little problem is that the bronzer DOES come off with water. So um, I found out the hard way that you have to rinse it off before you go to they gym. Or you sweat it all over your white tee and midway through your workout get a glimpse of yourself inthe mirror and realize that you look like the victim of a tragic car accident and THAT"S why so many people are looking at you sort of funny. (Yeah, that was kind of a bad day - so embarrassing). But at least it washes out.
It's a foam, but not the foam self-tanner. This one has a brown label, and is bronzer and self-tanner in one. I forgot how to post pictures, but here's the link.... It's called Neutrogena instant bronze sunless tanner and bronzer:
Thanks dizzy! I used the Neutrogena micromist aerosol spray on Friday, and I absolutely loved it, no streaks, super easy to apply, no smell, and has lasted suprisingly long.
I think Id like to give what you recommended a try as well. How long does it last on your skin before you start to see it wear off, or feel like you need to reapply? And how long does one bottle last you?

No, it doesn't come off on clothes as a rule - just if you get the skin wet (gross that sweat does it, I know). And it's only the bronzer that comes off, so I just rinse before I go to the gym now. (Or wear something sort of dark, so it won't show.
And one bottle lasted three weeks, but that was with some pretty heavy, continuous - how-tan-can-I-get application. I've never been really, actually tan before, so I got a little carried away. I think a bottle would last a month with normal use, though.
And it lasts about two days if I don't reapply. After I shower, the bronzer is gone, so it's only the self-tanner, which isn't as tan, and I really like being tan. So I like to reapply almost every day. But I can skip a day or two if I want without going back to white.
Ooh! I am a big fan of this as well - although lately I've ben all about the Loreal Sublime Bronze, but I do LOVE the Neutrogena Fam Tanner and the one W/Bronzer. I also find the bronzer one does wash off or wsweat off. But the clear foam one is soo easy and doesn't come off. Glad to hear you can get that great college "i live in a tanning bed" look!
