Birmingham Recommendations Please

I'm staying at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa July 4th weekend.  Does anyone have any recommendations on where to shop and dine.  Many thanks!!

Birmingham has a nice mall owned by the Simon Mall Group (houston Galleria, Florida Mall) that is really nice and has nice stores.  You might want to look it up online.  My weekend there was limited to that mall and Hoover for the SEC baseball tournament a few years back so I'm not much help but the mall was good

The Galleria, as Aurora suggested is huge. I prefer The Summit though. It's a gorgeous outdoor mall and IMO has nicer stores. The Mountain Brook area has lots of boutiquey type stores.

As far as eating, Ocean downtown has really great seafood...or they did the last time I ate there!

I used to live in B'ham so let me know if you have any questions. I haven't been in such a long time so I really don't know what's changed, etc.
