I've been MIA for a couple of weeks, but def. not on vac. or anything like that. I started to get sick Mother's Day weekend, I had a fever that never broke for almost a week, so I went to see my doctor's PAC (Physican's Assistant), and she said I may have a viral infection, sent me home w/some Advil. Fever still hadn't broke, so Joe literally made me go to the ER at a hosp. near-by. They ran some tests (on my brain, and did a spinal tap, that was NO FUN!), come to find out I had viral meningitis, but not the kind that kills you, so I was somewhat relieved by that. They gave me some pain meds, and we went home. Well, this past weekend, my lower right leg (calf muscle) was killing me, so on Monday, I called my doc., made an appt., and saw him on Tues. Well, come to find out, I have blood clots in my legs, I had been coughing on top of that, the blood clots had traveled to my lungs, so he sent me BACK to ER, and I was admitted that night, was just released today. After I left his office, I just cried and cried, it was just scary to me, and it still is. I was getting shots in my tummy every 12 hrs. (blood thinner), and some other meds. orally, so I'm home now, hoping to get back to my old self again, just wanted to share, and let you know ----- I'll be back.

Oh my gosh I was so worried about you. I have tears in my eyes wished I would have called you I feel so bad nowYou are in my prayers, ((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))
omg that like my worst nightmare. I am terrified of shots. Like to the point where I have actually been known to wrestle the doctor. My skin is crawling justt hinking about that you went through! Glad you're ok though....
Dont be scared- your going to be on the road to recovery very soon. Understandable though that this has you worried, it is serious, but the doctors will have you well in no time. Take it easy, get lots of rest, and know that we are thinking of you and are here for you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the get wells and speedy recoveries, they are truly appreciated! I saw my doctor again this past Tuesday, May 30th, I still have a little swelling in my lower right leg, but I am walking a LOT better than I was last week when I was in the hospital. I had to give more blood yesterday, so they can check my INR (blood) level, it was slightly above the level they wanted it at. I will be taking Coumadin (blood thinner medicine) for the next 6 mos.; the dosage the hosp. had me on was too high, so my doc. lowered the dosage, and it's better. I go back to work on Monday, after being off for 3 weeks, glad I had saved all of my sick time. LOL I'll see my doc. on more time, next week Tues., then I should be done seeing him for a while. They want to do a genetics test on me, so see if I'm a future blood clotter, or something to that nature, but that won't be till later on down the line. AND! I even got out yesterday w/Mom and did some ----- SHOPPING! So, I'm slowly getting back to my normal self.
Again, thank you for all the well wishes.
Love to you all!
