American Idol - Finals?

Ok, I stopped watching for awhile because I lost interest but my husband was so into Taylor I watched again last night and am completely impressed. He's my new pick to win (Paris was my original pick). I love his voice and his ability to entertain. I thought his second song, the Joe Cocker one, was going to be so boring but the way Taylor did it I had to rewind and watch it again. I think I was swooning!

I hope it's between the two guys. I've never liked McPhee.

I don't know - I think it could be Elliott and Taylor. I'm not sure though. I want it to be Kat and Taylor. I would rather have Chris in the finals, but that is not possible. Last night, I got straight through when I called for Kat. I called a couple of times and each time it was the first time I tried. Then I tried to call Taylor and I couldn't get through at all. Usually that isn't a good sign if you get straight through for someone.

I actually watched the show for the first time all season. I am so out of it with that show and any gossip/information surrounding it.

Why does one guy have gray hair? How old is he? I thought the age limit was 25 or something.

And also I really thought he SUCKED..I didn't understand why the judges loved him.

Honestly, I wasn't really impressed with any of them.

I'm totally w/you Kitty. I actually have watched all season, but I boycotted last week when Chris got kicked off. I heard some speculation that the votes weren't tallied correctly - people supposedly tried to call in to vote for Chris, and there was a glitch and votes went to Kat instead. I don't know if that's true or not...

Needless to say, I don't like any of the remaining 3, so I'm not watching or caring anymore. I really really hate Taylor though!

I stopped watching too. I hadn't missed an episode all season but now I really don't care. I loved Chris and I'm not crazy about any of the remaining contestants so I've completely lost interest.

I called in for Kat and Elliott and I had a really hard time getting any calls in for both of them. I never even got through for Kat but I got through a few times for Elliott after calling a million times. I despise Taylor so no votes for him from me!

I hope it's Taylor and Elliott. I'm in love with Taylor and I like Elliott. Kat just doesn't do anything for me. I just love how Taylor makes everyone have fun. I've never thought about buying and/or downloading any songs from any of the pervious American Idols but if Taylor wins I'll be anxiously awaiting his album. Soul Patrol! (I know, I know, I'm a dork)

I want Kat and Taylor to be the final two...they're clearly better performers and they had the better songs last night too. I'm sure Elliott is a nice guy and I see why people like him, but he had two wretched performances last night IMO, especially when compared to the others...I think I wanted to puke when he sang the chorus for "Open Arms". There's just no finesse in his performances at all.

I think Kat and Taylor will be the final two and I think Taylor will win. Kat will still get a record contract of her own and be successful too, so losing AI is no big deal for her...she's easily marketable.

I know a lot of you don't like Kat, but IMO she's honestly one of the most talented singers AI has ever had. I got chills over Somewhere Over The Rainbow, which is an incredibily difficult song to sing (the range, the lyrics, etc.). She's more talented that just about everyone in pop radio today. Granted, she's a bit lacking in personality, but still, she pulled in some great performances last night.

I think Taylor will win because he has his own style...he's clearly not copping off anyone and he's definitely got charisma to spare.

I'm with you, Drew! I Taylor. I was listening to the radio one day and they played clips from the songs they sang on AI and seriously, Taylor was the one I would choose to listen to. I just think he fills a big void in the music scene right now.

I also agree with lilykind. Katherine has a lovely voice and I adored her performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow last night. I think she might have more personality than we give her credit for. She always cracked me up during the audition shows, like when she insisted on kissing all the judges on the lips when she got to the top 12.

Elliot is great and obviously loves to sing, and I'd be sad to see him go. But someone has to. . .

I like Taylor. I think his voice is beautiful, and I loved the Joe Cocker song. I like Kat, too, I think she's got a great voice, but she over-sings everything so much that it gets on my nerves. I hated her arrangement of "Over the Rainbow." Too much ornamentation. There's a reason the song is famous--just because you've heard it a million times doesn't mean you need to re-invent the melody or weight it down with ornamentation.

I love Taylor, I think his spazzy body language and his enthusiasm are so lovable! And I love the grey hair too!

I thought Chris was horribly bland and that he covered some of the most mediocre rock bands of recent times. I mean he would be great leading a cover band...

I don't think Katherine can carry a tune and I find her voice really screechy and unpleasant.

I favorite guy was Elliot after he sang in the semifinals (my overall favorite was Lisa Tucker) I'm not sure who would win. Katherine is not as good as Taylor, technically. I never hear any comments about his voice not being able to sing the song through, where every other week, there's a problem with Katherine's vocal range (or maybe she just picks songs too high for her..) So I'm not sure WHO will win. Katherine would probably be able to sell more CD's, while Taylor would be better off performing in Las Vegas a few years from now (like Celine Dion).
