Okay, I like Teri Hatcher. But on Letterman last night I caught a bit of her acting really whacko. I understand she has come out about her sexual abuse and her platonic relationship with her ex husband, I saw her Oprah show, but she's really putting herself out there now. She was going on and on about kegel exercises and some certain exercise equipment, a "kegelmeister" she had purchased. Fine to mention it on tv, I am not a prude, but she kept going and wouldn't stop giggling. She went on to kid that she has a really "strong kitty" now, so her next boyfriend would be winning the "jackpot," she explained that she spoke to a cust. svc person at whatever company had the kegelmeister and that she bought additional oils and lotions.
It was sad, IMO. She's just an actress, so it's not like it's a big deal, but her behavior just made me feel more sorry for her. Sexual abuse really messes people up, it's just so weird when you see people like her making a joke of sex when it is something that has harmed them.

I could see where that would be confusing (plus a bit personal), but just because she suffered from abuse in the past, doesn't mean she has to live the rest of her life as a victim. that was in the past, and she has every right to be as open and joking about sex as she wants - it shows she's moved on. I don't necessarily think its a sign that she's whacko from the sexual abuse either. I wouldn't think about her any differently than any other actress that talked about that and didn't have a history of sexual abuse.

I agree with detroit in that I don't think of her joking around about sex as a result of her sexual abuse, and I don't think that she is any different than any other actress joking around about sex, but if it were me-- and I didn't see her on Letterman, so I'm going based on lorelei's post -- I wouldn't joke around to that extent... she just comes off as seeming desperate (haha) more than anything
