I forgot to tell you girls we booked our honeymoon.
5 days in Oahu
6 days in Maui.
Any tips on where to go, what to see would be greatly appreciated. Also, fine dining and cheap dining (especially breakfast) place recommendations.... things for us to do at night (we are not big club people..well, at least when we're together).. off the beaten path rec's..
If you can swing it, try to spend a night at the Hana Maui Ranch Hotel. It's on the other side of Maui, up the Hana Highway. Totally worth it!! It's the most beautiful place I think I've ever seen! http://www.hotelhanamaui.com/
In Maui the one thing I would say is a can't miss is driving the Hana highway. It is the most beautiful place I think I will ever see in my life, especially the black sand beach,(Wainapanapa State Park). I would suggest renting a Jeep for the drive, with the top down you won't miss any of the scenery.
The Whaler's Village shops are pretty cool and the Shops at Wailea are very nice and have some good places to eat, more upscale shops and cool art galleries. Front Street in Lahaina is a fun place to hang out during the day or night. They have various types of food available there with several places where you can eat on the balcony and enjoy the view. Hope you have a great time!
Maui is spectacular. We stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea, and Wailea is definitely a fun place. Great shopping and restaurants in the Shops at Wailea. Tommy Bahama's and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse have wonderful food.
Up the hill (overlooking the ocean) from the Fairmont is a fun place called Mulligan's on the Green. It's an Irish pub on the golf course and has great music on Saturday & Sunday nites. It's a younger crowd and a happening spot that is a blast. I was not an Irish music fan, but we had a blast and went 3 times in the 2 weeks we were there!
The north end of Kihea has a very local place called Jawz (fish taco's) - outstanding!
