MALIBU, Calif. - Child welfare officials and a sheriff's deputy visited the home of Britney Spears but declined to say Tuesday whether they were investigating the pop princess.
Spears and her husband, Kevin Federline, are the parents of an infant son, Sean Preston.
The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services and the Lost Hills sheriff's station declined to give details of Saturday afternoon's visit.
"It's a very standard, routine patrol request," Lt. Debra Glaskides said Tuesday. "We just roll out with them. We stood by, we took no action, no report or anything."
The Sheriff's Department said it was a DCFS matter and couldn't release any information. Glaskides said there may not even be a DCFS investigation, noting it may have been only a welfare check.
Phone and e-mail messages left for Spears' New York publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, weren't immediately returned.
In February, DCFS visited Spears' home after publication of photographs showing the 24-year-old singer driving with then 4-month-old Sean Preston in her lap, rather than in a car seat as required by law.
Spears later apologized, saying she did it because of a "horrifying, frightful encounter with the paparazzi."
DCFS director Louise Grasmehr didn't return a phone message left Tuesday at her Los Angeles office. The department routinely refuses to discuss cases, citing confidentiality laws.

I didn't understand why she was being visited until I read another article that said Sean Preston had been taken to the hospital because he was sleeping too much. I guess this was six days after he fell out of his high chair. It turned out he had a fractured skull and a blood clot. I don't have children so maybe I can't judge, but I know how I am with my dog, so I can't imagine waiting 6 days to see a doctor.
OMG that is horrible! I hadn't heard that. Their parenting skills are definitely questionable! I can't imagine any mom (esp. a new mom) waiting that long after some traumatic event to have the baby examined. Unless the baby wasn't strapped in, there is no way he could have just "fallen" out of his high chair. That story seems very sketchy to me.
that Sean Preston fell out of his high chair last week and Britney immediately took him to the doctor. The doctor said he was fine and sent them home.
Then Britney noticed Sean having different sleeping patterns.. Took him back to the doctor and they discovered that he had a fractured skull and a blood clot from the fall.
I guess after a baby that small has an injury, Child Welfare is required to visit the home for a follow-up check??

this, along with the physical evidence of her not strapping the child into a car seat would definitely be a reason for them to visit. any nurse/doctor after seeing a head trauma to an infant would further investigate the situation/history. they may not necessarily send child services, but after seeing the pictures in newspaper, i'm not surprised they showed up.
hopefully this will be a MAJOR wake up call. i mean that kid has 3 + guardians (ok, maybe it was a stretch calling K-fed a guardian).

Geez, this is so sad. Britney and KFed just should not be able to have kids. Child services needs to come and tie some tubes on Brit-Brit and KFed so they can't have more!
