Every time I keep on losing weight/toning/gaining more muscle, my chest keeps getting bigger. I was a B cup when I was a size 12, but now that I'm a 4-6, I'm a D verging on DD. I really do not appreciate this in the least since it makes finding clothes restrictive and a serious bitch. It sounds like a nice problem to have, but my back isn't enjoying the fact that I carry around something like 10 lbs. of extra weight everywhere.
I know girls have tried to increase cup size by excercise and have been mostly unsuccessful, but is there any way to decrease it?
ETA: please no breast reduction surgery suggestions yet! i'm too poor for that!
(though in 5 years if nothing changes I will seriously consider it)
Are you doing primarily weights and toning...or do you run or do cardio very often? I always thought that running would burn off the excess fat, so that all that is left is muscle...one reason women body builders have tiny chests. This is all just speculation, I am not health/fitness/workout expert. Hell, I don't even work out!
It does seem kind of odd though, because last summer i started running with my husband and my chest started shrinking...and i am small chested the way it is!
i think if your boobs have increased, that is just their natural size and you can just see them better now that you've lost weight. maybe they were smaller cup size because you bought a bigger number size in bras. I second suggestion of running to burn off some fat, but it probably won't decrease that much, maybe a D.
If you have insurance, they most likely will pay for breast reduction. One of my best friends did this- she was a size 4/6 with a DD. I can ask her what kind of bras she used- i know she was always trying to keep the girls under control. She got surgery a couple of years ago- i think at 21 or 22, to a C cup thinking it would be better to not go too far down, but now I think she wishes she went smaller. She was really happy though with the results and didn't have to pay out of pocket. Is this something you want eventually- or not at all?
i'm no expert on big boobs...i buy bras from VS solely for the vanity cup sizing...but...
one of my good friends in college was always, always a D/DD (and typically a size 4/6 or so) and pretty athletic. she ran, but also did a lot of aerobics/other cardio and *lots* of weight lifting. then a couple years ago she started training heavily for marathons and not only did she go down to a size 2/4, she also went down to like an A/small B cup. i could not believe it when i saw her and was convinced that she'd had reduction surgery, but she hadn't. it was just all the running. i don't know about you, i'm not sure even the enticement of changing my bust size would inspire me to train for marathons, but hey, it might be worth looking into?
I forgot how old you are Lilykind, but it wasn't until I was about 25 that I suddenly filled out into large C cups....when previously I had been a B for years. Now after I had a baby and turned 30 I weighed only 5-10 lbs more than I did at age 18, but I suddenly had D cups even after I lost every pound of the baby weight. So maybe it's hormones and has nothing to do with the exercise routine?
