well he strongly backed the ban. but IIRC, the bill was proposed by a female democrat, sadly.
i am trying to find more links/backstory.
but here is a little nugget of joy from his mouth:
"BILL NAPOLI: A real-life description to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life."
i guess if you aren't a virgin, or religious, rape isn't as traumatic for you.

yeah my girlfriends and I had a long email discussion over this particular piece of filth which issued from the mouth of what pretends to be an actual human being. It's beneath contempt. Utterly beneath contempt.

I agree that the guy sounds like an asshat, and that description is a total 1950s view of rape. But is it out of context or something? Because as awful as it is, it sounds like he says abortion is OK in that case.

the link on his name shows the rest of the interview. i guess to put it in context (or at least how i see it) is basically he was being asked what kind of exception could be considered "to save a mother's life"...and why rape/incest weren't an exception themselves. it's incredibly insulting to hear him act like this is the only situation in which a woman would be traumatized enough for abortion to be acceptable.

OMG that's hiliarious! I hope he gets lots of calls.
I can't get over the fact that he thinks that a woman has to be a virgin to be traumatized by rape. I wonder if he has daughters. And if so, I wonder what he would do if one of them was raped. Ugh!
