More specifically, Glacier Bay National Park? It's just west of Juneau. I'm interested in seeing the glaciers and wildlife. There is also a Husky ranch nearby, where you can go "mushing."
I like the idea of it, but I'd like to get some first-hand accounts of what it's like. I know it's a long shot.

I went to Glacier Bay about 7 years ago. It was so awesome. I have always wanted to go back.
It was in June. I don't think it got much above 60 degrees. There was so much neat stuff to do.
There were many trails to hike from beginner to advanced. You could stay on a set path or hike off the trail on your own. It was so neat because we went to the top of a moutain and it was snowing in June.
The wildlife was awesome. You could moose and bear. I remember seeing bear swimming in the water. It was so awesome. I also remember whales, fox and beavers.
It was definaltey one of my favorite places to go. I have been trying to get my family to go back every summer, but we have not yet. Yes, I am 24 and I still take family vacations. Man, I am a nerd.
Sorry this is so sporadic. I get excited when I talk about Alaska and my thoughts get very scarttered. My brain is going a mile a min.

ooooh, thanks for replying RyanJ!! Babble all you want, because I really don't know much about it.
From what I've researched so far, it seems like you would stay in the town of Gustavus while visiting the park? How many days did you stay (was it too long or too short)?
The main thing I'm wondering is how much can you see without hiking long distances? I'm not much of an outdoorsy person, although I really want to see all the animals.

I know its not the same but my grandparents did the 2 week alaskan tour 2 years ago for their 50th wedding anniversary and they loved it. Their pictures were awesome too. I don't know exactly where all they were but they are old and couldn't hike but still saw the glaciers and animals. I'm sure the tour included the park and that's probably where some of the pictures are from.
I would think you would be ok just based on my grandparents trip and how their pictures came out with the lack of hiking and stuff you want to do (I'm the same way so I don't blame you)
