How do you girls stay looking good (hell, I will settle for decent) on long car rides.
We are going to NC in a little while and taking dogs, so we are driving. I always feel like a such a grossy when I travel- drive or fly. I went w/ a friend to Colorado a few summers ago. She got off the plan and looked great. We got to my friends house and she changed her shirt and was ready to go. I on the other hand felt so gross. I definatley had to shower. We are going to have doggies w/ us, so there will be a few stops along the way- thank god. My brother wanted to haul it all the way to NC-13 hours- with only one stop. There is no way my bladder would have made it. I have the bladder of an 80 year old man. I take more bathroom breaks than my grandfather.
Any tricks or tips to not feel like I have slept in a dumpster after traveling? Thanks.

im probably not much help because i don't do long car rides or plane rides, im more of an hour and im done kind of girl. but i think that the number one key is actually to stay hydrated, that way your skin looks all fresh when your done traveling. and im willing to bet that this goes for car rides as well as plane rides. wear your favorite pair of jeans so that you know you look good and feel good as well, that way you can just change your own shirt and go...just like your friend in colorado.

I agree with the hydration. It is a 9 hr drive home for me & I used to eat beef jerky & drink energy drinks the whole time. Now if DH is driving I will drink mostly water with an occassional Dt coke for caffeine & rest / read as much as I can. I also usually wear comfy clothes in the car though, I never look "fashionable" on the drive. If I'm going to see people as soon as we get there (as opposed to going to a hotel) I will put my makeup bag in the front of the car & touch up my makeup right before we get there. It's amazing the difference a little lip gloss makes.
HTH!

as you know, i travel ALL THE TIME for work. some of it is quick, like a 2-3 hour drive. some is long- like a 4-5 hour drive and sometimes i am on planes...
when I am traveling, I wear my comfiest black pants (because I always spill something on me!) and layers on top- like a tank or shell, sweater and blazer. that way i can adjust to what i need and how i feel (hot or cold). always comfy shoes to drive or slip off if on a plane.
i drink a lot of water, use good moisturizer for my hands and when i am on the plane i always put cuticle oil on b/c i just do!
Don't wear makeup. Anything. I used to wear makeup when I traveled, and it's more hassle than anything. If you happen to fall asleep, and your hair is messed up, bring a small hairbrush in case. And the minute you get where you need to be, jump in the shower. That always works.
