i'm going to be in denver the first weekend of april to visit a friend and to celebrate both of our birthdays.  my friend has some things planned but i was wondering if any of you ladies have any suggestions of things to do, places to eat, places to shop.

also, does anyone know what the weather will be like in denver the first weekend of april?

Well, weather wise, it could be 80 degrees or it could be snowing.  March is our snowiest month of the year, and since you're coming at the beginning of April consider yourself warned!

What kind of activities are you looking for?  Favorite kinds of foods?  Do you know what part of town you'll be staying in?

my friend lives in park hill across from the city park golf course.  we are going to the mountains for a night and i think my friend has planned a pretty full weekend.  i just wanted to make sure that im not missing anything great.  i love sushi, good live music, outdoor stuff, and of course shopping.  we should have some free time sunday afternoon and maybe saturday too.

Fado Irish Pub has live music every Friday and Saturday night and doesn't charge cover - it's in LoDo.  Benny's (east of LoDo) and The Rio (LoDo) both have fabulous margaritas.  The Wynkoop (LoDo) has a comedy club in the basement, restaurant on the main floor (with really good food that's reasonably priced) and a bar/pool hall upstairs.

Cherry Creek North has some good shopping - a mall as well as boutiques.  6th street has a couple vintage/consignment places.  You could visit a brewery too if you're into that sort of thing; there are the big ones (Coors, etc) and some smaller local ones as well (Tommyknockers is fun).
