I am usually a pretty private person, but I feel comfortable enough here to ask you to all keep our daughter in your thoughts. She is almost 20 and is going in on the 21st for a biopsy of a lump right below her breast. My mom had breast cancer so I am totally scared. This doesn't even begin to describe her fear. I am probably over dramatizing, but when it's one of your kids its a frightening feeling. Please keep us in your thoughts. Thank you so much.
UPDATE: Thank you all SO much for your thoughts and kindness. Our daughter saw a very respected surgeon yesterday who is confident that the lump is a cyst. She was so scared and was so teary eyed when he came in and he picked right up on her apprehension and was great. He was very thorough and gentle and had her laughing by the end. He will confirm his diagnosis with the biopsy and took some pretty precise measurements of the cyst and will check her again in 4 months.
Nothing describes the fear when it's your child (as alot of you know). I can't thank you all enough for your support. I will keep you posted.
I will keep you and your daughter in my thoughts and prayers.
