ok! initially, i wanted to decorate the nursery all modern, but then i bought these dress forms and couldn't pass up using them...
this area looks a little busy right now, but just until i figure out what to do with the stuff under the "changing table." (it's an antique sewing machine) the teacup on the table is a kleenex box cozy. (a beloved purchase from fredflare that i hadn't used until now)
typical nursery stuff. i am going to put more pictures like the one near the rocker above the crib.

with backsplash and my precious mixer (and secret santa salt/pepper shakers from gypsyfreak)!
I LOVE your house. It has great character. My uncles build multi-million dollar houses but they all look the same-subdivision houses (boring)! I love older homes because of the character-how old is your home? You've done a great job decorating as well, I love the black and white floors.
jen - our house is 86 years old. the previous owner had some serious issues with "aesthetic" but the house is in great shape. (which is REALLY important with an old home, because sometimes it feels like we live in the money pit)
ranchera - actually that is the kitchen gutted (err, obviously). i had a picture of our old kitchen on my old computer, but i didn't move the file. it was ugly. brown linoleum floors and the cheapest ever cabinets. the bases weren't even mounted to the wall! (just shoved next to it!)
Love it, love it love it!! We have similar decorating tastes--I love old homes (our first home was built in 1929--I so miss it!) and "retro" decorating style. I am particularly impressed with the dress forms--what a creative addition to the room (and the fredflare kleenex holder). I also love the color of your nursery walls and the kitchen looks fabulous too. Good job!!
Everything is looking rather fabulous! I'm envious of your kitchen makeover, my kitchen is so ugly and it looks like you have the countertops I want too!
