LOVED Mandisa, she nailed it. I think Simon was right about the one girl who did the Alicia Keys song (can't remember her name) - she should pack her bags. Kelly Pickler did a nice job, although I think she's probably hanging in there more for her adorable self than fantastic singing talent.
I thought Taylor was the star of the guys show. I didn't mind his moves :) I loved that he just went out there and did his thing. I've liked him from day 1. Chris is my favorite - he did a nice job, but I thought last week's performance was better. Elliott - that boy can sing. Love him. I hope he gets a record deal.

I totally agree with the prediction that Kinnik and Melissa have sung their swan songs.
The guys are a little tougher to figure out since only 4 of them are strong enough to go against the girls, IMO.
I think Gideon might be out because he doesn't have the "likeability" factor, Kevin because he is too young and keeps picking the wrong songs, Will for the same reason as Kevin, and Bucky because he hasn't really done anything extraordinary. Any of those guys are picks to go tonight, and whichever ones make the final cut will be going home very soon.
I thought Taylor was really good, too, despite the manic dancing.
Ace did a lot better than last week, but Simon was right when he said the middle was a little rough. He hit a few sharp notes in there. But it's okay, because he had me at "hello".
Ace + Justin Timberlake = pretty damn hot.
Gosh, TaraT, now I need a cold shower.

I totally agree!
I'm wondering Lisa's days will be numbered if she doesn't stop singing slow, old lady songs? I love her voice and think she's adorable but she's boring me to death!
Taylor was cracking me up...I love how he's so comfortable on stage and seems to love performing!! I think I'm the only one who doesn't like Ace? The way he stares at the camera kinda creeps me out.
I think Will and Kevin will go home tonight, along with Melissa and Kinnik.
I'm glad I'm not the only American Idol dork out there!

do you JT too ? yes, i'll admit, i have a crush on him. and i'm almost 30.
ace=creepy no way. he's too cute. the staring i'm guessing is because on the first show the said something about the "smoldering" look. butthead still swears he's gay.

That Ace certainly is pretty. I am probably old enough to be his mother, but still. Does he remind anyone else a little of Smith Jerrod on S&TC? That said, I am not a huge fan of his musical genre, but what can you do. He does need to stop "smoldering" for the camera - you can be sexy without belaboring it (which yes, can be creepy). And his hat looks silly - you're indoors!
Ok, I digress. I like Taylor, and I love the song he did (yay, Doobies!), but his Joe Cocker contortions/impersonations have got to stop. He might be my favorite, though, because I am a fogey who likes the songs he chooses.
Elliott has a really great voice but chooses schmatzy songs.
Chris is a good performer and all, but I hate hate hate the type of "rock" (cough, sputter) he sings. Crappy corporate rock - it all sounds the same.
I actually liked Bucky's song last night and usually don't at all. Hate his hair and was appaled his brother has the same 'do. Yucko.
Ok, that one dude with the weird clown smile (Gideon?) has a decent voice and all, but he creeps me out. His whole thing of constatly saying "God bless you" to the judges... his mannerisms remind me of the preacher character Eddie Murphy did in "Coming to America."
Was it a bad dream, or did someone sing a Bryan Adams song? Who was that joker? I can't remember.
I think that the two young 'uns (Peter Brady and Chicken Little) need to go next. Don't they have school musicals to try out for or something? Because that's what their performances remind me of. Very "High School Chorus."

Someone sang the song "Heaven" by Bryan Adams. I completely forgot about that until you mentioned it (clearly a memorable performance). I don't remember who did it.
I am with dc- I think the two young ones will leave because they are a little high school musical to me.
dc- I'm so glad you said that about the high school chorus because I have thought that all along and no one at my work agrees to me. Now I know I'm not crazy!

any predictions or thoughts? i think simon was right with the 2 girls he said should get the plane tickets. the guys, taylor was really good, but what's with the funny arm moves? ace, still hot, but for some reason i really want him to sing a justin timberlake song.
I was also feeling the Ace/Justin Timberlake thing...too funny!

I have been trying to figure out who he reminds me of. You are cracking me up... you so nailed it. DH got me the SATC DVD collection for my b-day and I just watched an episode last night with Smith.
I'm not so sure about his abilities yet - but he is pretty cute. A Mrs. Robinson moment...
Man, I'm pretty disappointed by the results. Kevin got through and not Gideon? I don't like Gideon, but he's a much better singer and performer than Kevin, ew.
And the girls... WHOA I just lost all respect and sympathy for Melissa, since she had virtually not screen time. But the way she just screamed and ran to the chairs and left Ayla without a "Goodbye" or hug, I mean, at least ACT nice. But that's good for Ayla, at least now she can pursue basketball.
