My hands look like a 10 year old girl's hands so I was thinking of getting some pink & white acrylics put on for my business trip. But my nails are so tiny the last time I got pink & white, they put the white tip down the middle of the nail, I had 1/3 of my pink nail showing, the rest was all white.
I remember a while back I went to high end salon and instead of white tips, they put on a clear tip then they molded the pink part w/pink powder/gel - the same with the white part. That way, no matter how small the bed of the nail was, I could still get a normal looking nail. So does anyone know what this service is called?
I would just get normal nails put on...then ask either for a french manicure or even american manicure. that way you aren't married to any particular look.
I like american best because it looks way more natural.
I would love to know what this is called too. I bite my nails really bad, I also have been getting acrylics for years so they are shot.
I would suggest that you get plain acrylics and then get Essie's Ballet Slipper painted on, this is the most natural way that I have found for myself. HTH!
I dont really know a specific name for it, but what you are asking for is what I always got and I just got a full set, pink and white. That seems to be the norm, at least where I live. The only place I have seen them do it the other way is at the places that just turn and burn clients.
All I think it is is when they use white acrylic for the tips and add the pink acrylic over that. If you explain that they should know, what you said totally makes sense.
I would reccommend gels though, they are much better, and they can do the same thing.
That is what I always get. It's a little more expensive, but they hold up better and look nicer than plain acrylic.
My salon just calls them pink and white, but others may call them gel nails. I'm sure if you describe what you want, they will be able to do it. But some nail technicians who work in smaller salons may not be able to offer them because they don't carry the supplies.
That's what they are called. In fact, you don't need a tip, the can put the sticker on your fingertip, and put the white on the tip and the proper color pink behind it. They are more expensive to fill because they have to drill back and put in white where pink once was, since it's built in.
Since you have such petite nails and hands, perhaps it would look nicer to just get a nude pink. That way you're not accentuating where the tip ends with white, thus showing how tiny they are.
i'm thinking what you got the first time is just a full set with white tips. if you go to a salon and ask for pink & whites, they have the clear nail, and 2 different colored powders. one pink one white. when i get nails, i just call around to see if they do "pink & whites" and i get what you described at your high end salon.
HTH !
