i need an affordable quilt for my guest bedroom. i know west elm isn't going to be the best quality, but am i totally stupid for wanting it? i just need it to sit there and look pretty. also, do they ever have codes?
the quilt and maybe some shams or throw pillows.
be honest, i can take it.

I do like it. The color scheme is very calming- and you could have a lot of fun with the accessories. If you designed the room similar to the picture: their are botanical elements( the leaves in the pillows- and the color scheme in general), oriental( the bamboo cuts in the silver plated bucket and cutouts in headboard), and contemporary( with the additions of metal. Looks like the cabinet on side of bed is a brushed metal. Its clean and simple looking). Actually, I love it- because it could be very versatile. I say get it!
i think it would be great for a guest bedroom that gets little use. i think the quilt is lovely. i never like their throw pillows though. they all seem so overdone in a bad-trend kind of way.
i have a west elm quilt that i bought for our bed. i've had it for about a year. i should have known better, but it was perfect for the layering that i wanted to do. the stitching has started to pop loose at the top portion from use. so there ya go — not the best quality. i bought it to punch up / add another layer to our bedding that we've had for many, many years so it'll get replaced when our good bedding starts to look shabby. it's serving it's purpose for now, but i wouldn't use it for a main quilt on a bed that you'd use everyday. i will say that for the price i think the design is very good. i love the unique texturing they use on their quilts.
also, i've never seen a west elm code, but sometimes they offer free shipping on certain items.
Just for another option, I just ordered two quilts from overstock.com and they're both great quality and so much prettier than I thought they'd be. You might want to look there, the prices are great. I only buy the ones that have reviews though, just to be safe.
These are the ones I got and both quilts came with two shams each which was nice.
