storage problem...

My apartment next semester comes furnished...but instead of the bedroom having a dresser, they provide 4 large storage bins that are stored under the bed to save more space.  But now my problem is, where do I put the stuff that I normally keep onto of my dresser (jewelry box, makeup box, etc)?  The rooms are really big so I have room to buy something for them, but I dont want to buy actually furniture (i.e. a dresser)...just something practical from a store like Bed Bath & Beyond.  Any ideas??? Thanks!

what about just getting a card table and throwing a pretty table cloth over it? you could even set up a chair in front and make it like a little vanity with a mirror over it!

BB&B sells large plastic drawer bins that are stackable.  Three bins stacked makes a nice night stand, and if you put two bins next to each other, both with three bins stacked, it's about the size of a dresser.  They are incredibly sturdy and can later be used to store your items in the garage or attic.  They are clear plastic drawers in white plastic.

I am still using these upstairs SIX YEARS after buying them.  They were supposed to be temporary, but we are the laziest at getting our house furnished.  Anyway, that's how I know they are super sturdy; I even put a lamp on one and books, and it's fine.

You could put a table cloth or other pretty fabric on top and over the sides if you want to dress them up a bit.

You could also do a pair of small shelves.  Maybe white with cute white wooden brackets or the ones with no brackets at West Elm.  Just a thought.

ETA--oops, meant West Elm, not dwell!!
