I thought Kelly from NC is sweet and likable but not that strong of a singer.
I really liked Paris. It didn't hurt she sang my favorite song of all time. But I didn't like the judges compared her to Fantasia because she is cuter, better and most importantly, literate.
The other 16 year old, I forget her name, was good but reminded me of a young Whitney Houston. Not there's anything wrong with that, but she's a little too serious for me.
My VERY favorite is Catherine. She was awesome and her song choice was different but great. Everything about her is lovely. I love how she came out in a simple outfit but showed how talented and charasmatic she is. I really want to be her... or her best friend.
None of the other girls really stood out for me. I can't wait until tonight. I really like the guy with the gray hair and want to see how he does.
I agree with absolutely everything you said. Paris is such a little ball of energy - I love her. Catherine is my fav. But I loved loved that shirt that Melissa (i think?) had on - that printed tunic top.
I also want to see how the little nerdy guy does - I didn't see the pre-shows so I didn't see him & I'm intrigued.

Which one is Catherine? Our Tivo crapped out right before the last girl sang..was it her?
I loved, loved Paris...she's so stinking adorable!
Brenna is beyond annoying. I didn't think she was good at all last night. And she doesn't take criticism very well either.
I can't wait to see Taylor (gray haired guy) tonight. I'm such a dork...I did some Googling on him and he has an album out already. I listened to some of his songs and loved them!
My friend C is huge into theater and drama and goes to all these prestigious acting camps. She actually knows Katherine and Will. I don't watch the show but I thought it was awesome that she knew 2 of the 24 final contestants!

My money's on Paris and Katherine as well from the girl's group. They were excellent. Lisa was really great aw well. I think the opera girl and the one that sang the American Idol song should be worried.
I can't wait to see Ace sing. I haven't seen him perform, but I think he's cute. I hope he's good or else it'll just ruin the fantasy.

I loved Catherine and Paris. I just want Brenna to fall off the stage or something. She's so obnoxious and I was really irritated when she made top 24. I really hope that she goes this week. She's not even that good.
Becky wasn't that great but she's sooooooo pretty. I think I'm insanely jealous.
Oh, I watched it live last night but tonight I'm gonna watch it after it's been tivo'd. There were WAY too many commercials. I can't wait to see Ace; I hope he's good cause he's so freaking hot!

Did you watch last night? Total hotness! I know that I should be a little weirded out by his song choice in light of the whole George Michael thing, but I couldn't help myself thinking,"Oh honey, you can be my 'father figure' anytime . . . "
Taylor was also really good. But I do think that overall the girls outperformed the guys.

Boys I like: Ace, Elliott (although he needs some dental work), Taylor - because they can sing Kevin - he can sing his butt off & is the underdog - I love that. Will & David because I think they are adorable in a "george grey's anatomy" kinda way.
I don't like: Sway - i know the judges thought he can sing, but that performance made my ears bleed - hated it Patrick - i think he's too cocky for not being that cute or having that great a voice bucky - i mean really, stop smoking pot Gedeon - cocky - i hate the cocky - you are on american idol, you didn't just win a grammy.

For the girls, I like Paris and that's about it. After her performance my husband was like, "okay, I think that's the end of the show right there. No need to continue." She is so energetic and adorable and I actually *like* hearing her sing, which is more than I can say for pretty much any of the rest of them, girls or guys.
As for the boys, I cannot CANNOT stand that crooner guy. What a cheeseball. Can he sing anything normally? I don't think so. I also could not believe that Randy deemed Sway's performance "hot." WTF??? I really like Taylor, but I don't really like watching him. Paula's always telling everyone that they're "unique to this competition" but he's the only one it's actually true of. Ace is a hottie. Although Paula is always making everything weird with her comments. Was it just me, or did he look a little uncomfortable when she was going all ga-ga? Hubby thinks he's gay since he sang "Father Figure." I think it's a great song and was a great choice, but I'm afraid hubby might be right. Speaking of Gedeon being totally cocky...has anyone gone to idolonfox.com and read the profiles of the contestants? In response to "what are you goals for the future" or something along those lines, he said, "to win 10 Grammys in 2 years." Think much of yourself, Gedeon? P.S. Votefortheworst.com, which created quite a stir last year (and claims credit for keeping Scott on so long) has picked out Brenna and the Barry Manilow wannabe for this week. Heh. I'm pretty sure Copacabana is the worst song ever. P.P.S. Did anyone else see "Patrick's Friends" in the audience? Wow. Major plastic surgery along the lines of multiple face lifts and over-collagened lips, but besides that, anyone think at least the woman maybe used to be a man?

My tivo is on overload of shows waiting to be watched right now! I caught a bits and pieces of the girls' performances, but I haven't sat down to see any of the guys'. From what I've seen so far, I Katharine. I have to root for Ayla, because she's from around here (kinda-sorta)... she's been all over the news, so it would be hard not to like her. I don't know how far she'll go, though. She's not all that memorable. I agree that Paris is awesome, too.
