this is hands-down my favorite non-reality show on tv (love it even more than Lost - gasp!).
i love the cast - they have fantastic chemistry. and i think the fact that the basis of the show is bizarre diseases and patients really helps it to stay fresh -- a lot of medical/crime shows start out with smaller stuff and then they have to keep getting weirder and weirder until the completely surpass the possibility that any of this could happen in real life. that's one of the things i love about house. i'm so glad fox didn't give it the axe.
and i seriously am in love with hugh laurie. swoon. and listening to his aussie accent during his speech and seeing him in a tux at the golden globes just made me love him more.

me too smash! i've always had a mini-crush on him, but when he started speaking with an australian accent, i almost fell out of my chair. (and i personally thought he had the funniest acceptance speech). now i luuuuuve him, almost as much as i love mcdreamy!
I watched it for the very first time last night, I didn't really like it, but nothing else was on. The whole hermaphrodite thing seemed way far-fetched, and when the patient stripped to prove she was female, that was sooooo hollywood. Maybe I should give it another shot...but I hate smart-asses like the main character.

If you hate smart asses, seriously, maybe it's not for you. Because he seriously is. Every single time.

im not allowed to watch it! the bf hates it so much..."each show is a new far fetched disease, its not realistic at all". hah...like 24 is realistic with all those terrorists running around. even though the bf hates it with a passion, i watch it anyway when i can. i am terribly with remembering when stuff is on so i usually only catch the end and then i can't watch anyway so i turn it off. i love all the medical shows that are on...even all of the csi's cause they are sorta medically. and bones, love that as well. even though the books with temprenance brennan are way better i still watch. anybody remember that medical show that debuted a little bit before house did last year with the super blonde guy, they were outbreak specialists or something.

I've had a low-grade crush on Hugh Laurie since his days as Bertie Wooster on PBS's Jeeves and Wooser ... I love his acting -- House is a fantastic character. I love that you keep looking for his "good" side -- the side that like puppies and long walks on the beach and dinner by candlelight, and he's none of those things. He isn't cold, necessarily, he's only interested in the disease, or the cause, not anything else surrounding it (including the patient)
Does anyone see a connection between him and Sherlock Holmes? The names: Homes -- House, the job: detective -- diagnostician (sp?) the residence: 221B Baker St. -- building 221B (street not named) huh? huh? more than just coincidence...
