Any death Cab for a Cutie fans? I have heard alot about them but I haven't listened to any of their stuff. But I am going to see them (with Franz Ferdinand who I ) so I was wondering if anybody could give me a crash course in Death Cab? Maybe a list of great songs to download?
oooh oooh me! I love them! Maybe other fans will tell you differently, but I especially love their most recent two albums, so pretty much any song from those is going to be good. But my particular faves, from all albums, are:
Movie Script Ending, Blacking Out the Friction, Why You'd Want to Live Here, Title and Registration, A Lack of Color (one of the very best), Tiny Vessels, Soul Meets Body, Brothers on a Hotel Bed, Your Heart Is an Empty Room... I could go on...
yes title and registration is good, it was my ringer for a long time -
if i were you i'd get plans, their latest album, they'll play mostly songs from that, and maybe transatlanticism (i like it better than plans, but you may enjoy the show better if you know most of the songs)
I am so obsessed with Death Cab. I don't know anything about which album these are from, though, because I don't buy CDs, but these are my favorite songs:
The Sound of Settling
We Looked Like Giants
I Will Follow You Into the Dark
A Lack of Color
A Movie Script Ending
This Temporary Life
Marching Bands of New York <-absolute favorite of the moment

That is going to be such a great show. Both Franzi and DCFC are really good live bands. My favorite DCFC records are the first two, "Something about Airplanes" and "We have the facts and we're voting Yes."
I have to gloat, so forgive me...I went to University with about 1/2 of DCFC and I saw them a bunch of times in tiny little shows when they were just itty bitty little cabs, that was like 8 years ago. I'm actually having a hard time adjusting to their nationwide success.

itty bitty little cabs, LOL. This was sort of like me with Dave Matthews--when I was in high school, we had some teachers who had just graduated from UVA who were all into this cool local Charlottesville band. The first time I heard them on the radio I was like, WTF, how does anyone else know about Dave Matthews?
You lucky girl! I would love to go that concert. I love Death Cab. I have their two most recent albums, Transatlanticism and Plans. I first heard them on The OC a while back. My favorite songs are:
Man, I'm so jealous! I'd love to see them in concert. I hoped see them in Central Park in NYC over the summer and unable to, much to my everlasting regret. Here are my Death Cab favorites:
From PLANS: Marching Bands of Manhattan Soul Meets Body Different Names For the Same Thing Your Heart is an Empty Room
From THE PHOTO ALBUM: A Movie Script Ending Why You'd Want to Live Here
From TRANSATLANTICISM: The Sound of Settling Lightness Title and Registration Tiny Vessels Transatlanticism
one of my favorite favorite bands. in addition to all of the great songs that everyone already posted, my absolute favorite death cab song is "photobooth" - i've listened to it 327 according to my itunes! :)
