We are steaming lobster. When we have a special occassion we usually do that or king crab legs at home, it's more expensive that we'd usually spend, but still cheaper than eating the same at a restaurant. And easy.

we're going to bbq and eat in the backyard since the weather's been so nice lately (it was in the 80's in LA this weekend!). we're making salmon (i marinade the salmon in soy sauce and maple syrup for a day or two first - it's so yummy!) and i'll probably make a big salad or something like that. kind of a boring meal, but we both love it and we haven't bbq-ed in ages.
for dessert, i'm making plain old sugar cookies - they're my husband's favorite!
I'm making Balsamic Chicken, which is one of my favorite dinners. I just copied this from when I posted the recipe before (it was actually a response to you a long time ago). It's sooo easy and soooo yummy.

Balsamic Vinegar Chicken is one of my favorite easy dinners to make at home. I just take 4 chicken breasts, rinse them off and coat them with flour seasoned w/ salt and pepper. Add olive oil to the pan and saute over medium high heat in a large skillet for 5 minutes. Add about 5 cloves garlic and 10 or so large mushrooms, sliced (about a packages worth, sometimes I add more). Let cook for about 3 minutes, shaking and stirring occasionally to move the mushrooms and garlic around. Add 3/4 C. chicken broth, 1/4 C. good balsamic vinegar, 1/4 t. dried thyme and a bay leaf. Stir. Cover and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Take out chicken, put on a platter and cover with foil. Let the sauce simmer for another 7 minutes, then stir in a tablespoon or two of butter (not margarine or spread). I usually put the chicken back in the pan to let it soak up some more juices. I made this 2 nights ago with steamed artichokes. Yum. I could eat it twice a week and not get sick of it.
i may stop by Whole Foods tomorrow and pick up some of their pre-made up stuff that I just have to pop in the oven. They have stuffed chicken breasts and things of that nature...
yes yes, i am the ultimate lazy cook!
eta: stopped by Whole Foods, hehehe, got stuffed pork loin, red potatoes and asparagus. best part was 2 mini chocolate cheesecakes (i will run tomorrow to work off) for me and my honey!!!
I made our Valentines meal on Friday. I made whole wheat pasta with a crab sauce. It was actually the crab and corn chowder soup from costco, thinned with about 2T milk, plus a can of lump crab. Then, some garlic bread a caesar salad and some cheesecake and strawberries and champagne.
filet mignon (but cooked exactly to our own liking, unlike what you sometimes get at a restaurant)
potatoes (haven't decided yet how we'll prepare them, i might try twice baked for a change, since i almost always make mashed)
asparagus (DH's fave)
we'll make our own caesar salads
some yummy rolls
dessert bought at Whole Foods...I'm slacking on this course
oh and lots and lots of red wine!
cooking dinner together for V-day is tradition for us...i enjoy it more than going to a crowded restaurant, especially now that we don't cook together much anymore
I think I decided to try to copy cheesecake factory chicken Mediera - I've never had it but I hear it's great - if it come out good I will post the recipe!

I always get that when I go there. It is so yummy.
Cricket, I guess it is a hit. My DH asked "so when I want this again, what do I ask for? Stylethread chicken"? I told him it was balsamic but he said he liked ST chicken better. Thanks so much - everyone should try it!!!!!!!!
