let's discuss our thoughts on the collections.  i've just quickly browsed so far, and so far there are few that i think are really impressive. .  it still seems like the baggy/flowly look will be popular which in my opinion is not very flattering/wearable (especially marc jacobs collection).  i miss clean lines and showing off women's figures..

Badgley Mischka Faves:

( i like that color combo, the gold, black and red)

i don't love this dress, but i think the blue color is beautiful and have noticed it in a lot of collections..

DVF Faves:

I think that combo is interesting, I'm not a big fan of the lumberjack look though)

DKNY:

 (i like this color combo)

(i noticed again, a lot of this blue, and this silhouette...not very wearable)

(this reminds me of a polished version of angela on my so called life)

 (fun colors)

Luella:

i like this, but overall, very school girl/hip secretary.

Y and Kei:

Max Azria: (his collection is not making me sad that i quit)

 (looks comfy, hate the boots)

 (i like the coat)

Oscar de la Renta:

the bright blue again...

 (the full skirt look again)

Caroline Herrera (overall, her collection is one of my favorites):

(^those^ are probably my two favorites.  i love the colors and the red accent is amazing)

(i like the color combo of both of those)

Marc Jacobs: (for me it was disappointing).  no pics..

Jill Stuart: (i liked a lot.  i thought she interpretted the trends well while staying true to her style) no pics.

this looks like something I would wear now - doesn't seem very innovative...

I liked Jill Stuart:

Alot of Vena Cava's stuff I would totally wear:

From Luella:

DKNY looks wearable too:

And you girls posted most of the ones I liked from Herrera. These are my faves:

My faves from de la Renta:

I so want this (b. mischka):

A lot of the clothes I thought were too bulky and baggy. I mean, if it makes these models, who are stick thin, look chubby what do they think it's going to look like on "regular" people?

i'll probably edit to add more later but here are my thoughts so far. there seems to be a lot of influence from street style...the ubiquity of leggings. now that i'm finally old enough to have worn something the first time around, i see what people mean about recycled trends, not for me.

i *loved* luella, i really liked how she mastered quirky/kitschy chic, and i think she's totally coming into her own as a designer

(i love this coat, it's such a fun statement piece)

i'm really drawn to this dress. i'm excited to see how they re-work it for the stores.

tuleh -- very glam, but not fussy. definitely not stuff that would work with my mundane life, but a girl can dream

must own that first coat (or a well priced knockoff) and i love this dress

love the re-working of the lbd

so over the top, but in a good way

genart -- not loving the whole outfits, but some of the pieces ind. designers showed have great potential

i really like the proportions of the 2nd look, the jacket is something i will definitely look for

like the skirt, the rest of the outfit...not so much

i'm really drawn to this. it looks so warm, but chic and mysterious

twinkle -- again some good pieces. some of the styling is fab (picked out the ones i like best) but i seriously don't care for leggings at all

almost makes me want a pair of leggings, but not quite

sass & bide -- like that they're moving away from the sequins, few things that i really, really love, but nothing breathtaking...it may look better in stores. they should also give a designer credit to karen zambos (elegantly waisted designer) b/c they are hardcore plugging the corset belt. maybe that means i'll finally get one for less than $300

i really like these two pieces

betsey johnson

i actually think this is really cool

must now buy purple coat with leopard print and find some suitably outrageous opportunity to wear it

love this blouse

more corset belts...

this is so badass rock chic.

perfection!

the revival of 80's prom dresses

marc jacobs -- there are some shapes that i really like.  i'm so torn on him. on the one hand i think it's total re-worked vintage, but at the same time i always find myself lusting after some of his pieces

i'm drawn to the topi really like this shape...he used it a lot. i hope it trickles down

another variation on the gathered skirt

another really cool look. like a russian ice princess got lost on her way to the rink and ended up in a downtown bar

what i would give to own this coat

shapeless on its own, but take the dress & add a corset belt and i think it'd be a great look

 ?

more draping.  looks like the gym will become unnecessary this fall. i can just hide under layers of clothes

weird clothes make even the models unhappy. she totally has a wtf look on her face

looks like i'll once again be on the quest for affordable elbow length leather gloves. i this look

quirky cool. i like

Whew!  I am sooooo inspired!  I want to go out and buy a new sewing machine this very minute and start mimicing some of these looks!  I love that all the dresses are so lush and elegant!  Yay for ladylike styles again!
