I want to try this stuff because I keep hearing great reviews about it but I wanted to come in here to hear all my fellow ST'ers experiences with this stuff.
I thought this stuff was great at first - my skin cleared up right away, but after about a month, my skin was irritated and dry, and started breaking out again. i tried just using it once a day but to no avail.
The only acne treatment regimen I've ever been completely happy with was the murad acne kit (for $60, available at ulta and sephora)
fyi, my friend didn't trust me and decided to try proactiv herself, and had the same results.
I use it. Honestly it didn't really clear up my skin that well, and I still regularly break out. However, I need to use something to attempt to control it, and I continue to use it because I like the exfoliating cleanser and the texture of the toner and lotion as well. If I apply the toner and lotion immediately after washing, it almost acts like a 'glue' and makes my skin soft and quite easy to apply makeup to. It's hardly the miracle product it's made out to be though.

I used to use it too. I had the same results as Hermione.
I actually asked my dermo about it once. He said that it was an "okay" product. But the cleanser is an exfoliator and that can be irritating to the skin if used everyday. In his opinion there are much better OTC products out there.
I used it for about 3 years and it made my face so clear. Then it stopped working. I was breaking out all over my forehead. My face must have gotten immuned to it. I just started using Peter Thomas Roth and it seems to be working.
