see, i have the closet racks, but there is so much space above the reacks begging to be used. i wouldn't mind putting up some more shelves above the racks where my clothes hang...
i don't have much hanging space. and i have about 8 bags that i don't want to hurt. i love them too much. ;)
as for the floor, no room. too many shoes.
i guess these could work?!?

Those are the kind of shelves that my bags are sitting on - very functional. But for those 8 bags that you really love, I would also consider getting these for dust/scratch protection:

I sit my bags on a shelf too. I like the idea of the dust bags, but the only problem is that you can't see what's inside them, so in your hunt for the one bag you want to carry, you'll probably have to pull a bunch of bags down.
Also, how about getting a little step stool for your closet so you can reach the shelves up above? It'd be a shame to put them all up there and then to never use them because they're not easy to access.
My closet has shelving in it like what tara t posted:
On the far side of the closet there are 4 small shelves that I think were designed to be for sheets, etc. They're about 1.5 feet long with about 2 feet of space between each shelf. I put my bags on them arranged by size: small on top, medium in the middle, and huge bags that could double as luggage on the bottom two shelves. Arranging bags by size actually created a lot more room. I stand them up in rows instead of stacking them. Most of my bags are in dust bags, but I leave a strap hanging out so I can remember which bag is which. The dust bags really help! I have a few bags that don't have dust bags and they really do get dusty if I don't use them a lot.
if you keep them in dust bags you can always just take a pic and then attach it to the outside of the dust bag. Kinda like shoeboxes and pics of the shoes inside :)
