What is going on over there at Chanel? First the whole Reese and Kirsten dress snafu, and now we find out that the same thing happened to Natalie Portman. Her dress was not only recycled once, but twice! It was worn by Debra Messing in 2001 at the 12th Annual Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards and Kirsten Dunst also wore the dress in Spiderman.
Natalie still looked lovely IMHO, and I guess this just proves that Kirsten knows how to pick 'em!

I guess I don't get this - do they say it's an original - the only one ever made? Some mag I get does a "who looks better" in this dress type thing in every issue - so what's the big deal? I can understand if they are claiming it's brand new & there is only one in existence. But otherwise, several people may own a dress....right?

I agree. Its not like the dress what made for them or that they even paid for it... I would more more surprised if the dresses sat in storage and were never reused!
I feel like this black lace is more classic than the one Reese wore to the GG's and so it's not like no one else has ever been seen in a similar dress. But I don't know what Chanel is telling these people when they give them the dresses to wear...I heard Natalie tell Isaac Mizrahi on the red carpet that her dress was "vintage" Chanel. I dunno...5 years old ain't vintage...
ok in this case, i think it looks best on kristen. it looked really good on natalie portman too, but, i have to say, i think it looks terrible on debra messing. completely unflattering.
