This is cute, $211.65 with hutch and keyboard tray. It's a Sauder desk. This one is from AFO.com (where I got my office furniture) Walmart.com has the same thing for $260.96, but may be cheaper on shipping.
On the Walmart shipping thing- they will ship to your local store for free if you have one close & a way to pick it up (I know you are in NY & that may not be possible).
Off topic, lynnie, I was drinking my rose tea out of my new tea cup you gave me & was thinking of you! I LOVE it. It's my fav now.

not sure what you consider cheap, but this one from Crate and Barrel is $350 and very not ugly. ;) it's got a glass top with compartments and a keyboard tray underneath.
i used to have something like this, got it from Office Max or Office Depot, it's compact and has a keyboard tray. it's $129, but there are others as cheap as $80, probably even more in store. (p.s. i only got rid of it because now we have a built-in computer niche)
the really nice thing is that they come apart easily for when you move, but i don't think they look cheap--when they are put together, they are very solid looking.
thanks for the help girls- but let me clarify further. by cheap i mean CHEAP, like $100 at most. this desk is only for this place- maybe a year. i love the glass crate+barrel one posted and also that site that bumblebee posted, but its not the time for that. the cheapie office depot one is more like what i need =/ i dont have a job for 2 months and i'm gonna travel a ton, plus pay rent while i'm gone, eek! i'm already trying to figure out how i'm going to swing that, plus my penchant for vintage gucci and missoni. ay yie yie! i think i'm gonna make a few necklaces to sell to friends or something. OK- i also need really really small. does ikea have any that are just like table for your computer for only $20 or $30? just a table top, keyboard tray, and legs- not deep at all. maybe i should just build one? i guess i could go to home depot or something and be creative- as long as i found the hardware to attach for a keyboard tray. i'd paint it red probably, so i don't really care if the finish on something is bad. this is such a drastic departure from my current situation of luxurious huge furniture and space- but i've decided i'm young and its worth the trade off of having crappy stuff and being creative but living in a cool area vs. expensive nice stuff that i don't have in the correct apartment yet, plus i'd have to pay for and lug around through varioius moves.
This one is web only on Target but it is only $67.99 - it also comes in black & a cute orange - i know it's not really your style but it's cute & small
This one is $101.
This one is 67.99 too
ETA: I totally agree that it's worth the trade off, lynnie! You have your whole life to have extremely cool furniture. Right now you just need to be comfortable in you spot.

I've seen a number of these computer cart/table type things for around that price at the ikea stores...I think it's time to go to the store and look around.
my "desk" consists of a table from ikea and legs. they have tables in tons of different sizes and colors. mine is black, probably less than 2 feet long (too lazy to measure) and comfortable fits a monitor, key board, some random desk organizer things and several cd holders. i don't have a seperate keyboard tray, so that might be harder to find. but i suggest just ppoking around ikea. i'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
