How long do you keep Christmas cards (from friends/family) before you toss them, or do you keep them? I'm not trying to be a pack rat, but some things I just HOLD ON TO forever. LOL

This year my daughters school is recycling them so i have a good excuse to get rid of them.  Usually I pack them away with my Christmas stuff and then toss them the next year.

I recycle them when I put away my holiday decorations.  If they included photos or photo cards, I stick the photo in my album.  I'm the opposite of a pack rat tho, I don't keep anything that isn't useful.

shh...don't tell my family or friends but i throw them away as soon as i open them, and i only open them to make sure there's no money in them. yep, in the trash right away. just like junk mail. no need to hold on to them. the same for any other card i get in the mail, right in the trash.

I recycle them like Ally S, once we put all the decorations away for next year. But first I cut out any good parts and use them for holiday gift tags next year. I haven't had to buy tags in quite a while, and I like to recycle whenever I can. Getting one more use out of cards - and not buying additional tags and the packaging they come helps the environment (and our budget a little) so it makes me feel better.

As we receive them, we put them up in our kitchen on our memory board.  After Christmas, I take them down and cut the backs off and use them next year as gift tags.

I toss them when I take down my Christmas decorations Jan. 1 - I hate clutter - I forget who posted that she tossees cards right after she reads them (ReiRei! Love ya girl - just saw your post above).... but I can totally empathize with that. I am the opposite of a pack rat, I guess...
