What was your best clothing purchase of 2012?Could be most used, most favorite, best buy...however you define that.
All things considered, I'm going with these canvas wedges. I wore them all freaking summer, bought a backup pair because I want them to be my summer shoes forever, and bought the same ones in b/w stripe. Yeah I may have gone overboard but they are seriously great, versatile, fun, comfortable shoes. And cheap. If I'd been able to buy them in red, I would have but they sold out.
Wow, this makes me realize I haven't really gotten any standout buys this year, even though I've done a TON of shopping. Everything that comes to come I purchased last year or the year before. Actually, I have bought a bunch of art that I love this year. If I had to pick a favorite piece, I suppose it would be this GORGEOUS hand carved and painted, specially grown gourd, that looks like a bird, with another little birdie perched on its back. For the quality and quantity of work that went into it, I'd say it was a pretty amazing deal. I also just bought a stunning oil painting at a women in crafting craft fair just a few weeks ago, again a great deal. And obviously, all of this art will live with me for life, so really, probably the best buys I could make.
My is kind of a sequel from 2011. In Spring 2011 I bought a pair of red canvas wedges from Toms and fell in love. They were so comfortable and seemed to go with just about everything. So Spring 2012 I bought the same pair in aqua. What the red doesn't work with, the light blue does.
In the Fall I also bought a pair of Dexter Oxblood vintage boots on Ebay and I've been wearing them at least twice a week since. For boots that are almost as old as I am and aren't made by Frye, they are in wonderful condition.
Hmm. Not fashion, but I love Apple TV. The $100 was much cheaper than buying a new receiver (mine is old enough not to have an input for usb or ipod) so now I get to listen to my playlists and full music library (we have a TON of music) on the surrond sound.
