Oh my god, I LOVED this show. So embarassing. Jen won! Which drves me crazy. I HATED Jen. She was so immature and cried all the time. They didn't say why they gave it to her though. What happened was neither girl was told who the winner was until Monday night, live in Times Square. They had to make these speeches about why they should win (both very generic) and presented them to a room full of Seventeen readers. I thought noth the girl were dressed inappropriately for this. Jen was wearing a cotton minishirt, long tank top, and cowboy boots. Jess was wearing a miniskirt, jean jacket, and carried her purse on stage with her. Anyway, the "most important person" in their lives came and introduced them. For Jess this was her mom. Both her parents are Colombian immigrants who came to America looking for a better life for Jess. Jen's grandma introduced her. Apparently both Jen's parents are incarcerated and she's been raised by her grandma. After the girls give their speeches, Atoosa reveals that Bri is here and is going to ask them questions. [side note: I hate how this show acts like it's trying to find this great role model of a girl, and then totally takes the moral low ground on every situation it can to employ typical stupid reality show trick to create drama] She asks them some questions like, "Jen, you had everyone bare their souls to you. Was this part of your technique?" Both girls handle it well. Then Atoosa announces that the girls wll fini out who won when America finds out, in the fall! I totally thought Jess had this in the bag cause Jen is a huge idiot. Apparently I was wrong. The winner's face would appear on this screen in Times Square...and it's Jen's. The Atoosa comes out, blah blah blah. The end. Lame.
I thought for sure Jess had it! She is the perfect role-model for young girls-very sweet and smart and true. Jen pissed me off when she said sorry to Connie in front or everyone-just for the cameras.
