So my sister in law is pregnant with her third daughter. She's having a baby shower. I'm a bit confused because she has two daughters and the last one was born about a year ago but I digress. She has not registered anywhere. For some reason, shopping for baby items is less appealing to me than going to Home Depot. Any suggestions? She's due in December.
Books are great gifts. Plus you can get them on Amazon from the comfort of your own home. Or are they into sports? Cute team related stuff seems to always get big AWWWWs at a baby shower. You could get away with a cute onesie that way.
I doubt if they need baby clothes or other baby related equipment since they already have 2 girls. And I hear you on the shower for the 3rd baby, it's a little grabby, but maybe whoever is throwing it is just excited and doesn't realize the message he/she is sending? Some people have good intentions, but are just sort of oblivious as to how things can be perceived.
I agree that this is tacky but Boots has a good point, it may be the host's bright idea to get everyone to pony up yet again.
However since it's a close family member, even if there wasn't a party you would do something for the new baby, probably. (?) How about some restaurant gift cards so they can have some takeout meals after the delivery?
I remember that panic, when I had to buy a gift , yet from the registry, but I had no kids back then, I entered babiesrus, & was about to throw a fit....I have no idea what to get to the 3rd baby girl, in such speedy progression, a year later...(& I am a mom of 2), so...maybe something for a mother, you know your sister - some lotions ( will she breastfeed? those will be ruined, so...something to heal, or lotions for stretchmakrs repair), maybe a cute lounge set - for her to feel somewhat "in style" at home...or something to decorate a room for a baby, a mirror or...whatever the interior needs as you see...
