So I guess this has been discussed before but was wondering if anyone had any new favorites. I'm looking for some really nice sheets for master bedroom and guest bedroom and am getting easily confused by thread counts and reviews. Don't like anything that gets scratchy post wash.

Also- does anyone have a ball-park figure for how much a King set or a standard set should cost. I'd like NOT to break the bank completely but I am feeling like a clueless foreigner here - in that I'm not sure whether I am looking at overpriced stuff.

Was thinking maybe Overstock may be an option?

Thanks for any advice!!

Honestly I've had expensive high TC sets that I did not like much and/or pilled quickly, and comparatively lower quality/priced ones that I liked very much and wore well.

I am particular about colors, and I don't care about TC, I just want sheets that are soft and silky. Right now I have these

Because this gray was the closest to the color I wanted. I like them and I don't know why the reviews are so bad unless there's just a huge variation in quality and I got lucky. Or do people not know how to do laundry?

Overstock and SmartBargains often sell sets that include an extra set of pillowcases, and are a bit cheaper than other retailers. I've bought from one or both of them (can't remember) and have been very happy. I've had the best luck with thread counts that are high, but not over the top. 600 seems to suit me just fine. I can't recommend a brand, but $100-ish seems to be the rate for King sets, at a place like BBB.

Thanks ladies! Suasoria- I've wondered same thing re people being able to do laundry.

Greendiamond- thanks for the tips. Sounds like anything above 600 TC gets bad reviews as well..
