so i work out about 5 times a week and have been for about 8 yrs. so i assume i'm in okay shape, right? i lift weights, do cardio, stretch, eat right 97% of the time, blah blah blah. i work out with a trainer 2 times a week, but my usual guy is out of town. the sub guy is really working me HARD !!! both times i've been with him, i'm exhausted. in the middle of my workout, i need to sit down and take a break. i start to feel lightheaded. what's the deal?

Have you been working out with the same trainer for a while? I have been working out with mine for the past two years and anytime I have a sub for my sessions, I always end up feeling out of shape, too.
He's probably working you out in different ways than you are used to. Do you have a tendency to do pretty much the same workouts during the week? I know I do, and any time I do something a little bit different, it kicks my butt.
escrime, you're right. i felt like i was in better shape than to be huffing and puffing, and to be sore like i have never worked out before. i guess it's a good thing.
