Frizzy matted hair!!!! HELP!
Permalink Closed

Last February I cut my long hair into a bob because I donated to Locks of Love.  My hair has always been sleek straight and easy.  Well, since I cut it,it has decided to have a wave to it which in turn becomes a frizzy mattted mess. I'm not sure what the change in texture has to do with.  No matter what I do it does not lie straight anymore. Yesterday I blow dried it straight then flat ironed it, twice! I have tried using the curl/wave by putting curling product in it but I don't like it since it's not a true curl. I have also used Frizz Ease but that does nothing.  I hope you ladies have some advice for me. I'm tired of the ponytail look!!!!!

Have you considered dumping the shampoo and "co-washing" with conditioner only?

A couple of drops of coconut oil while your hair is still wet?

If you do decide to use conditioner only, check out naturallycurly.com. There's so much to know about cutting out (or cutting down) shampoo, like ingredients to avoid etc.

Have you changed your shampoo/conditioner at all? I wonder if you need a new formula now, like one made specifically for smoothing?

Or a deep conditioner once a week? I use the John Freida overnight conditioner once a week during winter. My hair is long, but very wavy and fizzes easily. Dry weather (winter weather) makes it static too. This helps.
