Does anyone take any herbal suppliments? I'm always unsure of whether to take something or not since most of the doctors that I've spoken to about it never seem to want to give me a straight answer.
I bought some Evening Primrose oil tablets for PMS but I always forget to take them. The only other herbal supplements I take are in tea. I drink chamomile(sp?) for sleepy time, and peppermint for digestion, etc. (this is new, I just discovered how good it is!!)
I once wanted to take St Johns Wort for sleeping but it can compromise birth control pills. This was found in a British study. If you ask a Canadian pharmacist they will say "Oh no, that isn't true" but I think the British are ahead of us on this one.(herbals).
Do you have a health plan?? My plan covers naturopaths. Maybe yours does too. I think that would be your best bet.
I am all for the natural approach to healing. I am just thankfully without many complaints. I know tea tree oil works well on zits and cuts, etc.
I read Natural Health magazine,it is very informative. Also Yoga magazine.
And I know what you mean about doctors. They don't give you a straight answer because they don't know much about the subject. Plus it kind of threatens their gig doesn't it?
