For me - after years of highlights to cover the ever-increasing grays (I've had grays since I was 16), I told my hairdresser to stop the highlights, because I felt like my hair was so damaged. My hair is very, very dark brown, and to get highlights to work, my stylist was using pure bleach...my hair felt like straw, no matter what I did - shampoo less, use deep conditioners, blow-dry less..
so instead, I asked for all over color to cover the grays, and a gloss treatment. Wowza! I have the softest, silkiest hair, like when I was a kid. My husband calls it "rabbit fur hair" because it's so smooth and silky, but my hair is also very fine, and it's not weighted down like when I use deep conditioners. Also, I have had a TON of compliments on the color (which is about as close to my natural color as I can get).
I feel about ten years younger, and since my 20th HS reunion is this coming Saturday, that's a good thing. *s* I only wish I'd done this ten years ago!
Who else has done something that's just really made you feel fabulous?

Stopped fighting my hair. It's fine and just wavy enough to be annoying, but not enough to actually wear it wavy or curly . So instead of coloring it and perming it to try to plump it up and spraying it into oblivion with hairspray, I let it do whatever it wants. I get a good cut to give is some shape, but other than that I rarely mess with it. So I have 'virgin' hair, and it looks much better now than it did when I used to try to 'fix' it!

Another vote to going back to my natural hiar color. I had highlighted my naturally medium brown hair for years... it was practically blonde. Last year I wanted a change so I told my stylist to match up my roots and she also gave me a gloss treatment. Last time I got a haircut I asked for side-swept bangs. I'd had my hair the same way for years: long, straight, one length, parted in the middle... boring. I also got a few highlights put back in, but not as light as I used to get... just to give it some dimension. I love my hair now, but I'm getting it dyed all brown again. It just looks so much better all brown... so shiny and healthy. I part my hair to the side now and I love the bangs.
Stopped using Noxema to wash my face. As a teenager, I used what my mom used and it just stripped the hell out of my skin. My face was so dry no amount of lotion could revive it.
So when I started working and had my own money, I went and had a demo at Clinique and it literally changed my life.
When i got married earlier this year, i decided to invest in LED/photomodulation/light pulse therapy to calm the redness in my face. I have mild rosacea and always looked like i have a mild flush.
My aestitician (sp) suggested i try it and it worked wonders for my skin. I had a total of five treatments scheduled every other week. My skin looked great and still does. It took the redness away, faded any dark areas, plumped up my skin and just made it look so young.
It's been five months since the last treatment and i scheduled myself for a tune-up since a little of the redness has come back but it's really not bad at all. I'll probably go in for a two - three treatments between now and the end of December.
