Any one ever been to Charleston?

I'm taking my mom on a 5 day vacation to Charleton, SC in early November.  Any one have any recs for things to do or places to eat?  We're staying Downton/Historic District.  I know that I want to visit a planation and see the Huntly.  Any other suggestions?
