I have a pair of leg warmers like this but they are grey and purple. ideas for a 80's outfit?ry%3D400

 

 

 

 

Update... I just used what I had at home...  I got mistaken for a gypsy  , missing the big 80's hair but did not hair hairspray. oh well I had fun anyway.

Okay. You must look like an off-duty Broadway backup dancer who is on her way home. That means:

  • braided headband, a la Dominique Swain's character, Lori, in Totally Awesome (photo attached)
  • 80's earrings (see below)
  • Off the shoulder, oversized sweatshirt with tank strap peeking out
  • tights/leggings
  • Shoes? not sure.  Really chunky sneakers (kind of L.A. Gears or something) or jazz shoes.

This is a good example of makeup for the early 80s.

OMG. I was just looking up some 80's fashion things for another thing, and I came across YouTube. There are many videos from Dance Party USA. They're quite inspirational. That reminds me that American Bandstand, Soul Train, and Solid Gold could be useful for the earlier part of the 80s.  Apparently, Dance Party USA went from 1986-1992.
