Interesting, eh? I never read her books, but this is quite a turnaround, no? It sounds like her life's circumstances have changed her ways, though it's a little weird that she doesn't leave her bedroom. I have to admit her new book sounds fascinating.

I am a HUGE Anne Rice fan - I have read The Witching Hour about 5 times & am reading the sequels now - I'm not as much a fan of the vampire stuff though I've read lots of them. How surprising & disappointing. I liked whoever she was writing for before! - but seriously, I guess I'll have to read this Jesus book out of pure curiosity. But really, I think it's like Steven King or other authors who write this stuff. You really can't "go there" without being just a little bit crazy. It has to have a profound affect on you.

I have enjoyed Anne Rice though I haven't read her books in a long time. I liked the Vampire ones and The Witching Hour. I seem to remember her last book got bad reviews. This does sound interesting. She also wrote, like the article mentioned, some erotica(Exit to Eden, Belinda, and the Sleeping Beauty books), writing as AN Roquelare( I think) She may have had another pen name as well. So, her work has always been varied. I had a friend who was an absolute fiend for Anne Rice books. She had everything the woman ever wrote. I wish I was still in touch with her so I could see what she thinks of this new development.....
