Do you know what's going down here?  Oh there is a mess, now her blogs gone private too...

Thanks for posting this, itsapinkthing. I've followed hers and several other pf the 'involved' blogs and was shocked by what seems to be even now, spiraling more and more out of control. If the 'offended parties' are writing the truth, then it's good to get the news out and put an end to the problem and forestall similiar future issues showing up here in our community. I wasn't sure how/if to approach it in regards to ST, so I'm glad you did so.
I do hope that full restitution is being made and help is being sought.

I was hesitant to post this, but it looks like it's too late. She screwed up, and I say she's still a member of our online family and should be forgiven.

I trust she'll refund the money to those she did not deliver with.

For the record, you can view her blog entries in our homepage feed. I'm going to ask her if she wants me to take it down.

I read her blog in my Google Reader but haven't had time to check in during the last week. Wow...I can't believe this.

That's some heavy shit, man. This just shows that no matter how safe and trusting you feel posting online/meeting Internet people/etc you just never know. We've known her for over 10 years... pretty shocking if it's actually true.

this is exactly why I encouraged only ebay transactions between our members -- stuff like this happens no matter how much you think you can trust someone.

This is all just sad to me. I feel for her because I think she really aptly named her blog and shopping became an addiction. Compound that with any other personal issues and not being able to keep up with the personal shopping business, it just spiraled out of control for her. I hope she has a good support system (in real life, not online) to get her through this mess.

 I agree completely.

I don't post here a lot but do a ton of online shopping and D is 100% right - if ebay had been used in the first place this situation would not have occured. You pay ebay etc but at least there is peace of mind and recourse if a transaction goes sour.

I'm sorry to read this. I hope, for everyone's sake, it gets cleared up quickly.

We are all seasoned online community members. We all know how people, especially under the veil of anonymity, can gang up, get dramatic, conjure stories, and embellish the truth.

We all know she lost control and didn't deliver on promises. I'm not going to speculate or base any decision on what I read on the internet.  I've known her online for over 10 years, and I do believe she had no malicious intent.

Think about it, she had a very successful blog -- success many of you only dream of with your own blogs.  I do not believe for one minute she wanted to throw all that away so she could scam money from people.

The last thing I want is a lynch mob on ST like I'm seeing elsewhere.  We're better than that.

I did speak with her, and she wanted me to share with you all that she's a mess, very sorry, has apparently rectified the situation, and does not anticipate any major legal issues.

I think at this time, it's just better to assume she was not malicious, keep her in our loving and positive thoughts, and hope she is able to soon overcome this mess and get on with her life.

I met her here on Stylethread and we immediately became great friends. We haven't yet talked in length about what happened, but I do know that she is a very honest, good person, and will make good on anything she may have mishandled. She loves writing her blog and really values her readers.

I read the story elsewhere in the internet, but knew her from here. I started following her blog after seeing her threadstyle posts because she had such interesting ideas, even if her style was not really similar to my own. I didn't want to post anything once I heard about her situation because I wasn't personally affected by her actions and let's face it, none of us probably know the whole story anyway. But from what I have read, it just makes me sad for everyone involved.

I do want to point out that of all the places I've seen her story, we are the least "mob mentality-like" site. And that's why I love coming here every day.

Bummer, I totally know a girl who did this EXACT same thing to others. In her case, she basically got in over her head and refused to admit the truth to people until they called her out on it. Such a shame. Best bet is to just be honest and take your lumps. People forgive pretty easily - I think she has a lot going for her, I hope she is able to raise her head up and move past it. She'll be missed if she doesn't

I know - that's why I love this community too.  I only mentioned it because I didn't want anyone to get any ideas evileye

That said, I'm removing names here to protect her privacy.  I understand the need to alert the community, but I think that has been accomplished, and I don't want to add to what is already a very difficult situation.

Oh good. I would have been do disappointed because she seems to be a genuinely nice person and I just couldn't wrap my head around her doing whatever things she was accused of doing. I feel bad for her and I can totally feel her pain. I've been way over my head far to many times to count. We all make mistakes, after all we are human.

Oh and good point D LOL...I think we here are all a little more mature than that ;)

I hope everything works out for the best interest of all involved. I know that she had built an extremely large following in a relatively short period of time for her blog and I hate to see her have to give that up due to mistakes that spiraled out of control. She seems like a sweet girl who just got in over her head.
