I love these suitcase chairs -- would make perfect seating in a guest room... lots of other cool "up-cycled" items on the site too.

Very cool! They remind me of the book-tables that I'm always clipping and saving images of.

There was a series of books that I read as a little girl where the main character turned her uncle's trunk into a writing desk. I've always loved that idea.

I really like the trunks that have been made into chairs. My mom has an old Cedar Chest, it would be awesome for that!

You know, now that I look at it, it probably wouldn't be that difficult. You would have to cut three pieces of wood (one to reinforce the bottom of the suitcase, and two to staple foam and fabric on for the seat and back (sans tufting -- I'm not that talented!) Recycle some chair legs from an old chair, and bolt them in through the reinforced bottom of the suitcase.  Totally doable, and so cute for a guest room.  I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a cool old suitcase now...

If you do it, please post pics in the DIY section!
