I've been MIA for quite a bit, so I thought I'd pop over and say hello and give a quick update! Life has been crazy for the past few months and I've hardly had time or energy to post around here.
Last month, one of my brothers-in-law donated a kidney to my other brother-in-law. We had the donor, his wife, and four kids come down from Michigan to stay with us during the whole thing, so we had 9 people living in our house for about 3 weeks. During the whole transplant recovery, we also had my mother-in-law, my sister-inlaw and her husband also come visit, so I feel like I'm running a bed and breakfast more than anything these days! Most of the family cleared out now, except the recipient who will be at our house until the beginning of September. So that's kept me busy! The good news is that everyone is healthy and recovering well!
And in other news, I'm pregnant! I'll be 20 weeks and thus halfway there on Sunday! My due date is January 8 and we've decided not to find out the sex. Exciting stuff! We're super excited, but we've admittedly been super distracted the past few weeks, so we are doing a bunch of baby-related stuff this weekend, like crib shopping and registering for birthing classes, and signing up for daycare. I'm just now starting to feel the baby move and kick and it's such a cool feeling and makes the whole thing feel real (finally!).
Anyway, I'll keep you all posted come January and I'll probably be looking for advice on baby gear! (I feel completely clueless on some of this stuff!)
Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. And, the fact that the transplant stuff has been going well for your family members is also great news. Can't wait to see you around the forum more.
That's wonderful news all around! Congrats on surviving hosting a (I'm betting pretty stressful at times) family B&B and and ever bigger YAY on your growing little one!
Congratulations! I'm not around much either but decided to pop in today. So happy for you! I had a baby girl myself three months ago (as those who are my FB friends know - I post endlessly about her). Since you mentioned birthing classes, I wanted to highly recommend HypnoBirthing. That is what I did & I could not be happier with the results. I was able to have an unmedicated, natural birth with what I would consider a painless labor. I got to the hospital at 3:30 am and she was born less than four hours later at 7:21 am. I have some advice on baby gear if you need any! I know when I was doing my registry I was overwhelmed but eventually it all comes together. Hope you're feeling great!
