I only did it once - I have some blood sugar issues, and the heat just made me feel extremely woosy. My friend continued to take the class though and had no ill effects. It burns more calories than regular yoga because you sweat so much more.

I guess you could say I "practice" Bikram, as in I go about 2-3 times a week. I've actually cut down a little because I'm trying to get back to running as well. So, my ideal workout week would be Bikram 2 days and jogging 2 days. That doesn't always happen but it's my goal. Anyway, I LOVE Bikram. I've always worked out but I've never really been able to get into strength training, I've always just done cardio. About 1.5 years ago I was really in an exercise rut and I started Bikram. It's great for me because it's a little different and there is an element of strength training involved which I had never had in any of my other workouts and I've really seen my body change. I don't think I lost weight but I have a lot more definition in my muscles and I'm the type of person who really doesn't have much muscle definition. It's definitely a tough class but the more you do it the easier it becomes. Plus, you feel so great afterwards. One thing though, if you try it you HAVE to go at least 2X within 2 days. I remember the first class I ever did was miserable and I swore I'd never go back then I got talked into a second class (the following day) and it was a totally different experience and I was hooked. HTH. PM me if you have any other questions.
