in my tennis shoes? I've worn two different running kinds, both are Nike's and it hurts like hell when I keep walking so for the meantime I cover them up and I'm okay. what wrong? o, i get them on my pinkie of my feet, both of them.
Are you wearing cotton socks? They always give me blisters. If you are, switch to something with a moisture wicking blend. I get mine at Target. I even have run in cheap dollar store socks and been fine, just as long as there is some synthetic in them.
If socks aren't the issue, I'd go to a specialty store, like your local running shop, and have them fit you. They will watch you walk/run barefoot and in different shoes until you find some that work with your feet and gait.

oooh - I am so anti-Nike! They are notorious for being more of a nice-looking street shoe than an actual running shoe. They gave me blisters and lots of foot problems - my podiatrist told me not to wear them anymore (I was training for a marathon at the time),
I prefer adidas or saucony - but if you don't want to invest in new shoes (they can be expensive), I would echo the socks idea - get the kind with dry-wicking technology. they have them at target, I think it might be by champion, but you'll see them if you look in the athletic sock section.
oh, and one more thing - you should go half a size up in your running shoes, b/c your feet swell when you sweat. that way you will also get more room in the toe box (nike's are often narrow) - sounds like your pinkie toe is getting squeezed.
