I have learned to replace sour cream with plain yogurt. I usually get full fat yogurt, because the non-fat is not worth the trade off.
I just bought some Fage plain Greek yogurt this weekend, and omg. I love this stuff! Non-fat and really, really, good and super thick. Much better than the other plain yogurt I've been buying (including Greek!) Thought I'd share...

I've switched over to greek yogurt for the health benefits, but I don't like the Fage to just eat. It's too tart, so I can see why you'd replace it for sour cream!
have you tried Chiobanni? It's non fat greek yogurt and it's awesome. The strawberry-banana, mango, and raspberry are amazing!

I have not tried Chiobanni. I tend to only buy plain yogurt and mix fresh fruit in. I might just give it a shot though -- it can be a nice "treat"

I love Fage too. It was the first strained / Greek yogurt I tried, and I like it best.
Sidenote: I just bought an amazing raspberry jam from a fruit stand in FL, and I've been mixing it with regular, low fat, plain yogurt. It's so good!
This is a weird one (and sorry if I already mentioned it). Lately, I have been swirling in a couple tablespoons of tahini in plain yogurt. It seems odd, but it tastes great. I use this kind of tahini for this particular application (it seems sweeter and more peanut butter-like). DH thinks I'm a freak.

I've been eating Fage greek yogurt for a while now, started because I realized that I need way more calcium in my diet than I get normally. I can eat it without flavoring but do prefer it with jelly or jam of some sort. I just throw a bunch of the yogurts in my work fridge with a jar of jelly. I've found that cherry preserves (the kind with whole fruit) works really super well. This last weekend I made blood orange and meyer lemon marmalade and that's been amazing with the yogurt. I have a hard time eating regular yogurt now because I find it to be too thin for my taste.

Ooh, I love Greek yogurt! I first had Fage when I was living in Glasgow... I was so sad when I got back to the US only to find it wasn't sold here. Luckily it is now! They've also just started selling Magnum ice cream bars here, which makes me so happy. They are SO delicious!
I can't eat it plain - I prefer to add things to it, like jam, fresh fruit, honey, etc.
