What would you do? Need advice long

Here's the situation.  About 6 years ago, hubby and I got a sofa, loveseat and recliner.  This is the color blue, which I now HATE.  I'm soooo sick of blue and want to get rid of all my blue stuff.  But I want to keep the furniture until I get my dream furniture in about a year and a half when we leave Phoenix.

Sorry for the big pic.  The pic is very old (Our first house, daughter is almost 5 now!).  Anyway, I just got a slipcover for the sofa (tomatillo red), moved the loveseat out, replaced it w/ a brown club chair.  So now there is the red couch, tan chair (all w/ matching pillows and throws in gold, red and sage), and this NASTY blue recliner.  It sticks out like a sore thumb.  Everything else coordinates except this.  Putting a throw on it doesn't hide it.

Here's my new slipcover, it's more of a chili pepper red in person

These pillows...

Throws in red and gold, and more gold pillow for the chair and sofa.  I have gold, green and black accessories and a BRIGHT BLUE CHAIR!!!!  HELP!!!!

Can't you also get a slip cover for the chair, or re-upolser (sp?) it. Or maybe stick it in another room?

Well, my husband HAS to have a recliner (that will change.  I promise you that!).  It's a 6 year old Lazy-Boy, so I wouldn't reupholster it.  I'm just stuck.  I did find a throw that I forgot I had that looks pretty decent on it.  It has a provencal design w/ the all the same colors as the room, including the blue.  It will work for now, but I'm still open to suggestions.

I don't think I've ever seen a slipcover for a recliner.  Don't see how it would work, but if anyone has could you post links?

Where do you live Cricket?  The reason I ask is that my mom has had several pieces of furnitue reupholstered in Mexico and they've always done a great job and it's always been really reasonably priced.  Since you mentioned Phoenix, it made me think if you're that close to Mexico, you might want to look into that.  She had my dad's old rust orange recliner reupholstered years ago since he would NEVER get rid of it.

Pretend the chair isnt there! Toss the throw over it and act like Frasier when he had his dad's ugly chair in his living room. Just kind of roll your eyes at it when company comes. It could be the "blue elephant" in the room that nobody talks about!!

BTW, I love the color of your slipcover and the pillow is great too!! Great combo.

And your babies are so cute!!
