Hi everyone - Just wanted to share the fantastic news that the specialists told us that my daughter most likely (almost to a certainty) does NOT have mitochondrial disease and that no further tests are indicated at this time (although she does need some support at school and OT, etc.). We are all over the moon and extremely thankful to God for this good news. We're finally back home and Lucy is happy as a clam, all dressed up in her ballet clothes and having a tea party with her "dollies" as I type. Thanks again for your concern and encouragement, which definitely helped me get through this.
Oh alb that's so good to hear! I was reading your other posts and thinking of you. Lucy and Madie are the same age and as you were describing things I was thinking how easily I could possibly see some of those things in her. I can imaging your initial worry and now relief. Now it's time to take some deep breath and advocate for your daughter just as you have been with her school. Love to you all!
Thanks, everyone! We are still so so happy about the news. Pink - I think a lot of it has to do with the stress she was under at school and maybe my stress was somehow rubbing off on her. There is such a difference in her now - she seems so happy, attentive and articulate. I really hope this "sticks" - as she is returning to school tomorrow (but is excited about it at least). Hugs to you and sweet little Madie from us over here!
I'm so happy for you and your family. It must feel so great to rule out so many potential worries, and get back home to concentrate on supporting her at school. I'm sure Lucy is happy to be done with all the poking and prodding and missed her home and friends.
