hey ladies!  so i saw a map on the news of states who are accepting evacuees & california is not on it!  i was pretty disappointed because if other states can help, why not cali?  i know i would be first in line to volunteer at a shelter, and i'm sure there would be tons of others right along w/ me.  i just wrote a letter to the governor about it, so maybe you all could do so too?  it says to include your address (i guess to show you are a resident), so i just put it below my name when i closed the letter.  here's the site:  http://www.govmail.ca.gov/

hm, maybe the news just didn't have an updated map? because i know there are many people in a shelter somewhere near downtown called "the dream center"--that was all over the news over the weekend.  but it is definitely a privately run/funded charity and not state-affiliated.

ya, sorry that wasn't clear... i know about the dream center, but that's a private org.  i'm talking about opening up staples, the forum, you know, places like that to evacuees.
